About ZJUT
Zhejiang University of Technology was founded in 1953 and traces its roots to the Zhejiang Intermediate School of Technology of 1910. It grew through a series of chemical-engineering schools and colleges before taking its current name in 1993, and is one of Zhejiang Province's key high-level universities. It is a separate institution from Zhejiang University.
ZJUT is large: 21,880 full-time undergraduates, 16,638 graduate students and 1,382 international students across 27 colleges and three campuses, Zhaohui and Pingfeng in Hangzhou and Moganshan in Deqing. Engineering and applied science dominate, especially green chemical engineering, pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, new energy, new materials and IT, and the university received CNY 1.36 billion in research funding in 2025. It also runs a joint college with the University of Exeter.
For international students, ZJUT is unusually accessible. It offers English-taught bachelor's degrees in fields such as computer science, software engineering, mechanical and civil engineering, finance, international trade and pharmaceutical science, with an IELTS 5.5 minimum, and Chinese-taught degrees from HSK 4. Tuition is CNY 16,200-18,800 a year, and applicants take the national CSCA test in Chinese or English.

What admissions looks for
- A completed high school education with a solid foundation in mathematics, physics or chemistry for engineering, or strong maths for economics and management.
- CSCA scores in the subjects required by the chosen programme.
- Language readiness: HSK 4 for Chinese-taught or IELTS 5.5 / TOEFL 60 for English-taught programmes.
