Student life is centred primarily on the Nanaimo campus, where students can use academic support, health and wellness services, counselling, accessibility services, recreation facilities and career-development resources. VIU publishes tuition as rates rather than a single annual price because charges depend on credential, course load, residency category and program. Under the fee schedule effective April 1, 2026, standard credit-based undergraduate tuition for domestic students is CAD 173.12 per credit. The corresponding international rate for undergraduate degree, diploma and certificate programs is CAD 832.09 per credit.
