About Georgia Tech
Georgia Tech was founded in 1885 and sits on a compact campus in midtown Atlanta. In fall 2025 it had 56,715 students, but only 21,028 of them were undergraduates; the large graduate total reflects its big online master's programs. Its colleges include Computing, Design, Engineering, Sciences, the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts and the Scheller College of Business, and the Georgia Tech Research Institute runs large applied research programs.

Student life
Georgia Tech's campus is a green, walkable pocket inside midtown Atlanta, anchored by the Tech Tower and Tech Green. 92% of first-years live on campus, and most upper-level students live off campus in the surrounding neighbourhoods. There are more than 500 student organizations, and co-ops and internships take many students off campus for a semester or summer. The Yellow Jackets compete in NCAA Division I, and 'Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech' is the fight song.
