About UTS
The University of Technology Sydney became a university in 1988 and has grown to 54,403 enrolments in 2025, including 15,380 international students, and more than 300,000 alumni. Domestic students apply through UAC. International students can apply directly to UTS or through UAC, which also processes international applications. Most UTS international scholarships are assessed automatically with your application.
What admissions looks for
- A selection rank (ATAR plus adjustment factors) at or above the course's recent lowest selection rank.
- Assumed knowledge for the course, for example Mathematics and two units of English for the Bachelor of Business.
- For Engineering and IT, evidence of strong motivation; UTS still considers applicants who fall 1-3 points short of the selection rank.
