Student Life & Environment

Student life is organized across geographically distinct campuses. UQO recognizes student associations and subject- or identity-based groups, including separate general student representation at Saint-Jérôme. Activities and services should be checked by location because a group or facility based in Gatineau may not operate in the same form at Saint-Jérôme. The university identifies services for accessibility accommodations, financial-aid guidance, career and employment assistance, professional orientation, written-French support, learning assistance, psychosocial support, Indigenous liaison, and student-life programming. University-managed housing is concentrated in Gatineau. For fall 2026, UQO advertised 350 residence spaces for full-time students, allocated principally in application order and subject to an income-eligibility declaration. The published 2026 monthly rents ranged from CAD 525 for a smaller room to CAD 878 for a studio, with electricity, heating, air conditioning, internet, basic appliances, a bed, and study furniture included. Location & Surroundings

UQO’s Gatineau campus places students in Québec’s Outaouais region, directly across the Ottawa River from Canada’s capital. Its two principal Gatineau buildings are the Alexandre-Taché pavilion at 283 Boulevard Alexandre-Taché and the Lucien-Brault pavilion at 101 Rue Saint-Jean-Bosco. University residences are located at the Alexandre-Taché site, and UQO describes access to local public transportation, including the Rapibus network. The Saint-Jérôme campus is at 5 Rue Saint-Joseph in the Laurentians, northwest of Montréal. It is a separate study environment with its own program mix, student representation, library access, and campus services. The City of Saint-Jérôme also provides a free parking-and-shuttle service to UQO, although students should verify current municipal schedules before relying on it. A smaller Pierre-Moreau pavilion is located in Ripon. Applicants should confirm the actual teaching location shown for each program and course. Admission to UQO does not imply that a student may freely take the same program at Gatineau, Saint-Jérôme, or Ripon, and housing information for Gatineau should not be assumed to apply to the other locations.

Costs & Career Outcomes

UQO does not publish one meaningful flat tuition figure for every student. Charges depend on residency status, study cycle, program classification, credit load, and ancillary fees. The university provides separate 2026–2027 fee information and a simulation tool for Québec residents and international students. Applicants should calculate a program-specific estimate and budget separately for housing, food, transportation, books, immigration documents, insurance, and personal expenses. Under the 2026–2027 fee regulation, online admission applications cost CAD 60 for domestic applicants and CAD 120 for international applicants. International tuition includes a government-determined supplemental amount that varies by cycle and academic category. From fall 2026, international students in the first and second cycles generally must pay the full balance before the term begins; failure to meet the applicable deadline can result in course registration being cancelled. Different arrangements apply to specified groups, including some French and Belgian students, doctoral students, refugees, diplomats, scholarship recipients, and participants in certain agreements. Career preparation includes employment and orientation support, an online recruitment platform, on-campus employment listings, and paid placements in selected cooperative and integrated-practice pathways.
