Student life is centred principally on Waterside Campus and extends to university accommodation in the town centre and at Scholars Green Student Village. Enrolled students automatically become members of the Students’ Union. Waterside connects with National Cycle Routes 6 and 536, and the university reports frequent Stagecoach services between Northampton bus station and campus. Students living at Scholars Green are farther away: the accommodation guidance places it about 4.5 miles from Waterside, with a dedicated bus arrangement for residents. Travel time depends on traffic. The central setting can be useful for reaching shops, cultural venues and onward rail or coach connections. Students considering placements, evening study or off-campus housing should assess their own route rather than assuming all university facilities and residences are adjacent. Parking at Waterside is limited and subject to eligibility and permit arrangements, so a car should not be treated as the default commuting option.
