Students should not assume that every credential maps neatly onto the bachelor–master–doctorate structure: French awards such as the BUT, engineering diploma and university diplomas have their own formats and admission rules. The breadth of study includes science, social science, law and political science, management, cultural and international studies, engineering, health and environmental fields. ISTY, the university’s engineering school, lists routes in computing, mechatronics, embedded electronic systems and digital systems for industry. Health provision includes university study in medicine and related disciplines. Doctoral candidates follow research-oriented routes, while many taught programs incorporate professional experience, apprenticeship or continuing-education options. Program-level checking is essential. Entry level, prerequisites, campus, language expectations, application platform and whether a course is awarded solely by UVSQ or within Paris-Saclay can differ. Some first-year science availability and international application routes also change by intake. Prospective students should use the current course record rather than treating the institution-wide catalogue as an assurance that every listed option is open in 2026–2027. Student Life & Environment

Student life is distributed across UVSQ’s sites rather than concentrated in one residential campus. The Maison de l’étudiant Marta Pan in Guyancourt brings together student services and spaces for meetings, performances and other activities. University services also support student associations, cultural projects and sport. Registered students can seek help to create an association, apply for project funding, borrow equipment and reserve certain university spaces. The university sports service organizes curricular, competitive and recreational activity. It also provides adapted arrangements for students with disabilities and sport-health initiatives. Cultural, sporting, social and association-based activities may be available as optional academic units, although eligibility and credit recognition depend on the student’s course. For 2026–2027 housing, UVSQ warns that CROUS places primarily favor scholarship holders and international exchange students; other applicants should plan for limited availability and consider partner residences or external platforms. Housing is not guaranteed, and students should search early because the teaching site may be some distance from Versailles or central Paris. Location & Surroundings

UVSQ operates in the Yvelines area west of Paris, with major activity in Versailles and Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and additional sites serving Mantes-en-Yvelines, Rambouillet and Vélizy. Some health and library facilities are located elsewhere in the surrounding region. The result is an urban and suburban university network rather than one enclosed campus. Location should be evaluated at program level. A student admitted to a course in Guyancourt will have a different daily journey from someone studying in Versailles, Mantes or Vélizy. UVSQ’s 2026 housing guidance notes that travel to a study site in the Paris region can be lengthy even where public transport connections are available. Applicants should compare the exact teaching address, timetable and transport options before signing a lease. The region offers access to the employment, research and cultural environment of western Île-de-France and the broader Paris-Saclay area. At the same time, living near central Paris is not automatically the most convenient choice. Housing near the relevant campus or along a direct transport route may provide a more practical student experience.

Costs & Career Outcomes

For 2026–2027, UVSQ states that statutory university registration charges range from €178 to €630 according to the qualification, excluding any specific additional charges. University diplomas can carry their own course-specific fee. Students registering simultaneously for two different qualifications may owe a fee for each, subject to regulatory exceptions and reduced-rate provisions. UVSQ’s 2026 policy grants eligible non-EU students admitted to national first- or second-cycle qualifications a partial exemption so that they pay the same registration amount as domestic students, within stated limits on the number of exempted years. Students should verify that their precise qualification is covered. The CVEC is normally required before registration, unless the student falls within an exempt category. Online card payments of at least €178 could be split into three installments in 2026–2027 when the first payment was made by 15 October 2026. Housing, transport, food and other living expenses are separate and can vary substantially by campus and accommodation type.
