Sign up to see your chancesUniversité Évry Paris-Saclay is a public, multidisciplinary university based mainly in Évry-Courcouronnes, south of Paris. Established in 1991, it retains legal personality and institutional autonomy while operating as an associated member of Université Paris-Saclay. Its provision extends from undergraduate study through master’s and doctoral education, with subjects spanning science and technology, law, economics, management, humanities, social sciences, languages and the arts. The university also includes an IUT and professionally oriented routes such as BUT, professional licence and work-study programs. Students should distinguish carefully between degrees administered by Évry and Paris-Saclay-labelled programs taught on the Évry campus, since application and administrative arrangements can differ. The central campus is integrated into Évry-Courcouronnes and is accessible by RER D and tram T12.
About Université Évry Paris-Saclay
Université Évry Paris-Saclay is an independent French public university rather than a branch campus of Université Paris-Saclay. Its statutes classify it as an établissement public à caractère scientifique, culturel et professionnel, with legal personality and pedagogical, scientific, administrative and financial autonomy. The current name reflects its association with the wider Paris-Saclay academic network, but students enroll with a functioning university that maintains its own governance, services and administrative processes. Created in 1991, the institution developed as part of the expansion of higher education in the Île-de-France region. It is multidisciplinary, with academic components covering law and political science; fundamental and applied sciences; science and technology; humanities and social sciences; languages, arts and music; management through IAE Évry Paris-Saclay; and technological education through IUT d’Évry. An official institutional document also identifies doctoral provision and research activity through laboratories and research platforms. The university is operating normally for 2026–2027. Official registration information gives active enrollment periods for new and continuing students in licence, professional licence and master’s programs. Prospective students should understand the institutional relationship before applying: some master’s offerings carry Université Paris-Saclay labelling or appear within Paris-Saclay systems, while the teaching location may be Évry. Checking the awarding institution, campus and application route on the individual program record is therefore important.

How Admissions Work
Admission follows the French higher-education system and depends on the credential, entry year, nationality, prior qualification and place of residence. There is no single university-wide acceptance rate or universal test threshold published in the reviewed official material. Applicants should begin with the exact 2026–2027 program record and follow the route stated there; requirements for first-year undergraduate entry, transfer or later-year entry, master’s study, doctoral study and continuing education are not interchangeable. An offer of admission and administrative enrollment are separate steps. For 2026–2027, the university’s online administrative-registration campaign opened on 7 July 2026. Published periods were 7–23 July and 18 August–30 September for new L1 students, while new and continuing L2, L3, professional-licence, M1 and M2 students generally had 7–23 July and 18 August–23 October. Different deadlines applied to repeating L1 students. These are enrollment dates after admission, not general application deadlines. International applicants should not assume that the domestic route applies. The correct procedure can depend on nationality, country of residence, credential and whether the country participates in the Études en France system. They should also verify the language requirements stated by the individual program; the database identifies French as the institutional language of instruction, but no university-wide IELTS or TOEFL minimum was verified. Programs connected with Université Paris-Saclay may use a different application or administrative pathway, so applicants should confirm both the awarding institution and Évry teaching site before submitting.
Academic Experience
The university’s searchable 2026–2027 catalogue covers a broad range of credentials and study formats. It includes general licences, professional licences, BUT programs, DEUST qualifications, master’s programs and university diplomas. The principal subject groupings include science and technology, law, economics and management, humanities and social sciences, languages and arts. Applicants should use the catalogue filters and then inspect the individual program page, because the responsible academic component, teaching site, admission route, year of entry and award type vary. The academic structure includes IUT d’Évry, IAE Évry Paris-Saclay, UFR Droit et Science Politique, UFR Sciences Fondamentales et Appliquées, UFR Sciences et Technologies, UFR Sciences de l’Homme et de la Société, and UFR Langues, Arts et Musique. This structure supports both conventional university study and more professionally oriented pathways. Work-study delivery is available in parts of the portfolio through apprenticeship or professional-training contracts, but availability must be confirmed for the specific program and intake. Research is connected to teaching through university laboratories and the Paris-Saclay environment. Official institutional material describes provision from licence through doctorate and identifies multiple laboratories and research platforms. Nevertheless, not every course is research-focused, and applicants comparing similarly named master’s programs should verify whether the degree is administered by Université Évry Paris-Saclay or by Université Paris-Saclay, whether Évry is the teaching campus, and which application platform the program specifies.
Key Highlights
- Autonomous French public university with its own legal personality
- Established in 1991
- Associated with Université Paris-Saclay while remaining institutionally independent
- Active 2026–2027 enrollment confirmed by official registration materials
Student Life & Environment
Student support is centered partly on the bilingual French-English Welcome Desk in the Île-de-France building on the central campus. It helps students navigate university procedures and provides direction on housing, jobs and placements, financial or digital assistance, health services, disability arrangements, associations, sport, culture and academic or career planning. This is especially useful for students unfamiliar with French administrative systems, although it does not replace the office responsible for a formal application or immigration procedure. Housing is not guaranteed. For 2026–2027, the university has a specific CROUS de Versailles partnership for enrolled master’s and doctoral students seeking places in university residences. The published application deadline for that allocation round was 18 June 2026, and the university explicitly advised applicants to pursue alternatives because assignment is not automatic. Évry-Courcouronnes also has CROUS residences, private student residences and access to the Paris-Saclay CASA housing platform. Campus life includes student associations and access to information about cultural and sporting activities. Practical support extends to health, disability, social and financial questions. Students choosing accommodation should consider which building hosts their course: university facilities are spread across central Évry-Courcouronnes and additional sites, so a residence convenient for the central campus may not be equally convenient for every program.
Location & Surroundings
The main university campus is in Évry-Courcouronnes, in the Essonne department of the Île-de-France region. Its central buildings sit within the city rather than on an isolated residential campus. The university states that the site is approximately 150 metres from the railway station, bus station, city hall and cathedral, putting teaching facilities close to public transport and everyday urban services. The central campus can be reached through Évry-Courcouronnes Centre station on RER D. Tram T12 also serves the Mairie-Université stop, and local and regional buses connect the area with surrounding communities. The main administrative and Welcome Desk address is 23 Boulevard François Mitterrand. The university library and several teaching buildings occupy nearby addresses. Not all teaching takes place at this central cluster. Official campus information also lists the Pelvoux building, IUT facilities and sites in Brétigny-sur-Orge and Juvisy-sur-Orge. Applicants should therefore check the precise teaching location on their program information before choosing housing or estimating a commute. Access from Paris is possible by regional rail, but travel time and transfers depend on the departure point and assigned site.
Costs & Career Outcomes
For the 2026–2027 academic year, the university published national-degree registration charges of €178 for licence study and €255 for master’s study. It separately listed differentiated fees of €2,902 for first-time non-EU international students entering the first year of a national first-cycle degree. That differentiated amount should not be generalized to every international student or every study level. Program-specific, continuing-education and other charges may follow separate rules. The compulsory student-life contribution, CVEC, is additional where applicable and is not included in the university’s fee-exemption decisions. State higher-education scholarship recipients and wards of the nation are exempt from registration fees as of right. The university also operates a commission that can consider full or partial exemption requests on pedagogical and social grounds, although application categories and deadlines differ. Students should budget separately for housing, food, transport, insurance and study materials. No verified university-wide room-and-board figure is available, and CROUS housing is limited rather than guaranteed. Career support is provided by the Direction de l’Orientation et de l’Insertion Professionnelle. Its services include guidance on academic and career planning, help with searches for internships, work-study contracts and employment, open-access documentation and computers, group workshops and individual appointments. Workshop topics include CVs, cover letters, interviews and professional networking, while ÉvryTalents carries internship and job opportunities. These resources are useful, but the reviewed sources do not establish a single institution-wide graduate salary or employment rate, so outcomes should be assessed at program level.
