Student Life & Environment

Student support is centered partly on the bilingual French-English Welcome Desk in the Île-de-France building on the central campus. It helps students navigate university procedures and provides direction on housing, jobs and placements, financial or digital assistance, health services, disability arrangements, associations, sport, culture and academic or career planning. This is especially useful for students unfamiliar with French administrative systems, although it does not replace the office responsible for a formal application or immigration procedure. Housing is not guaranteed. For 2026–2027, the university has a specific CROUS de Versailles partnership for enrolled master’s and doctoral students seeking places in university residences. The published application deadline for that allocation round was 18 June 2026, and the university explicitly advised applicants to pursue alternatives because assignment is not automatic. Évry-Courcouronnes also has CROUS residences, private student residences and access to the Paris-Saclay CASA housing platform. Campus life includes student associations and access to information about cultural and sporting activities. Practical support extends to health, disability, social and financial questions. Students choosing accommodation should consider which building hosts their course: university facilities are spread across central Évry-Courcouronnes and additional sites, so a residence convenient for the central campus may not be equally convenient for every program.

Location & Surroundings

The main university campus is in Évry-Courcouronnes, in the Essonne department of the Île-de-France region. Its central buildings sit within the city rather than on an isolated residential campus. The university states that the site is approximately 150 metres from the railway station, bus station, city hall and cathedral, putting teaching facilities close to public transport and everyday urban services. The central campus can be reached through Évry-Courcouronnes Centre station on RER D. Tram T12 also serves the Mairie-Université stop, and local and regional buses connect the area with surrounding communities. The main administrative and Welcome Desk address is 23 Boulevard François Mitterrand. The university library and several teaching buildings occupy nearby addresses. Not all teaching takes place at this central cluster. Official campus information also lists the Pelvoux building, IUT facilities and sites in Brétigny-sur-Orge and Juvisy-sur-Orge. Applicants should therefore check the precise teaching location on their program information before choosing housing or estimating a commute. Access from Paris is possible by regional rail, but travel time and transfers depend on the departure point and assigned site.

Costs & Career Outcomes

For the 2026–2027 academic year, the university published national-degree registration charges of €178 for licence study and €255 for master’s study. It separately listed differentiated fees of €2,902 for first-time non-EU international students entering the first year of a national first-cycle degree. That differentiated amount should not be generalized to every international student or every study level. Program-specific, continuing-education and other charges may follow separate rules. The compulsory student-life contribution, CVEC, is additional where applicable and is not included in the university’s fee-exemption decisions. State higher-education scholarship recipients and wards of the nation are exempt from registration fees as of right. The university also operates a commission that can consider full or partial exemption requests on pedagogical and social grounds, although application categories and deadlines differ. Students should budget separately for housing, food, transport, insurance and study materials. No verified university-wide room-and-board figure is available, and CROUS housing is limited rather than guaranteed. Career support is provided by the Direction de l’Orientation et de l’Insertion Professionnelle. Its services include guidance on academic and career planning, help with searches for internships, work-study contracts and employment, open-access documentation and computers, group workshops and individual appointments. These resources are useful, but the reviewed sources do not establish a single institution-wide graduate salary or employment rate, so outcomes should be assessed at program level.
