Student Life & Environment

Campus Rosenheim combines academic facilities with a library, individual and group study areas, the StuBistro canteen and university sports. Student participation includes the student parliament and subject-level student councils. Music activities listed by the university include a choir, university orchestra and chamber orchestra. These opportunities are institution-based, but their availability and schedules can vary by semester and location. International degree students can use the Welcome Service for onboarding, intercultural orientation and career-related support. Other services include central academic advising, language and writing support, disability and chronic-illness assistance, family support and mentoring for women students. Students interested in entrepreneurship can approach the university’s ROCkET start-up centre. Accommodation is not automatically provided by the university. Location & Surroundings

The main campus is at Hochschulstrasse 1 in Rosenheim, an Upper Bavarian city of more than 60,000 residents. The university places it near the city centre and within reach of the region’s mountains and lakes. Munich, Austria and northern Italy are accessible from this part of southeastern Bavaria, giving students both urban and outdoor options without placing the campus in a major metropolitan centre. Rosenheim is a regional rail junction on routes toward Munich, Salzburg and Kufstein. The university’s own Rosenheim Hochschule rail stop is approximately a five-minute walk from campus; buses also serve the site. From Munich Airport, the university estimates a journey of about 1.5 hours. It does not provide a semester transit ticket. Its August 2026 travel information instead directed eligible students to the reduced-price Deutschlandticket for local and regional transport. Campus choice materially changes the location experience. Degrees assigned to Burghausen, Mühldorf am Inn, Traunstein or Ruhpolding should be assessed using that location’s transport and housing conditions rather than those of Rosenheim.

Costs & Career Outcomes

For the 2026 academic context, every enrolled student pays a €97 Student Union contribution per semester. Since summer semester 2026, international students from non-EU countries have additionally been charged €500 tuition for each enrolled semester, subject to the university’s stated exemption rules. This produces a standard combined semester payment of €597 for affected students, but programme-specific continuing-education fees and personal study expenses may differ. Housing, health insurance, food, transport, learning materials and personal costs are separate. A current university international-programmes sheet estimates approximately €1,000 per month for living costs including housing, meals, health insurance and personal expenses. This is a planning estimate rather than a guaranteed budget; rent and lifestyle can materially change the total. Accommodation is limited, and early searching is necessary. The university’s internal job market carries internships, student jobs, thesis opportunities and entry-level roles, while the Internship Office handles formal requirements for mandatory placements. International students can also access international career support and selected English-language events. No institution-wide salary or placement-rate claim was found, so career outcomes should be evaluated by programme and individual experience.
