Technische Hochschule Augsburg is an independent, degree-granting public institution in Bavaria’s university-of-applied-sciences sector. It was established as Staatliche Fachhochschule Augsburg on 1 August 1971, initially concentrating on engineering and design. Business studies followed in 1974, computer science in 1980 and social work in 2018. The institution adopted its present German name in March 2023.
