Singapore Institute of Technology began in 2009 as a route for polytechnic graduates to pursue university education. SIT’s published 2026 First-Year Experience includes Helix orientation, a University Life Club Fair and Day Zero, an academic introduction that is compulsory for freshmen. SIT’s main address is 1 Punggol Coast Road in northeastern Singapore. The approximately nine-hectare Punggol Campus sits within the Punggol Digital District, a precinct planned to combine education, businesses and community activity. SIT characterizes the site as a living laboratory for applied learning, research and industry collaboration. Academic buildings are divided between Campus Heart and Campus Court, with courtyards, a community park, a library, event spaces and makerspace facilities. Public transport access is direct. Punggol Coast MRT station is at the campus doorstep, while Punggol Coast Bus Interchange is adjacent. Teck Lee LRT station is also within walking distance. The district is designed to be car-lite, and SIT warns that parking is limited; walking, rail, bus and cycling are the more practical options. The setting offers a different experience from a traditional self-contained campus. Some lower-level spaces, including food courts, the Community Park, Heritage Trail, Makerspace and visitor gallery, are accessible to the public. Costs & Career Outcomes

SIT uses cohort-based undergraduate fees, but there is no single university-wide tuition figure suitable for every applicant. Charges vary by programme, credit load, intake cohort and nationality. For the 2026 undergraduate cohort, SIT’s published schedule gives different subsidized per-credit rates for Singapore citizens, permanent residents, ASEAN international students and non-ASEAN international students.
