How Admissions Work
For 2026 undergraduate entry, ShanghaiTech recruited in 19 Chinese provincial-level jurisdictions. Eighteen used a comprehensive-evaluation route centered on the university’s Campus Open Day, while Anhui used ordinary undergraduate admission based on the national examination. Except in Jiangsu, applicants in the comprehensive-evaluation provinces could still list ShanghaiTech without an Open Day score; Jiangsu applicants needed that score. For students admitted to undergraduate programs in 2026, the university published tuition of CNY 7,000 per academic year and accommodation of CNY 1,200 per academic year.
