About PSUT

Princess Sumaya University for Technology was founded in 1991 as Princess Sumaya University College for Technology, a branch of Jordan's Royal Scientific Society set up under HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, who chairs its Board of Trustees. It began with a single bachelor's degree in computer science and received its university title in 2002. It is a private, non-profit university in Amman.

PSUT stays deliberately focused on technology. It has three undergraduate schools: the King Hussein School of Computing Sciences (computer science, computer graphics and animation, software engineering, data science and AI, cybersecurity), the King Abdullah II School of Engineering (electronics, computer, electrical power and energy, networks and information security, and communications/IoT engineering) and the King Talal School of Business Technology (business administration, accounting, e-marketing and social media, business information technology). A graduate school offers master's degrees and a PhD in computer science.

Its programmes carry international accreditation: the BSc in Computer Science was accredited by ABET in 2012, and on 2 June 2026 PSUT announced that its King Talal School of Business Technology had been awarded EQUIS accreditation, which the university says makes it the first business school in Jordan to obtain it; the school also holds AACSB accreditation. PSUT suits students who want a compact, specialised campus with a strong entrepreneurship scene, through the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship, rather than a large comprehensive university.

What admissions looks for

  • A school-leaving average at or above the programme minimum (75% or 80%).
  • The right secondary track for the chosen school, such as a science, engineering or STEM track for computing and engineering.
  • Performance in the admission platform's entrance examination and interview.
  • Complete, certified documents from the Jordanian Ministry of Education.

Tips for applying to PSUT

  1. 1 International applicants should get their school certificate equivalence certified by the Jordanian Ministry of Education early, as it is a required document.
  2. 2 Budget for the full cost: tuition per credit hour plus 350 dinars registration each semester and a one-time 50-dinar enrolment fee.
  3. 3 If you are torn between computing and engineering, note engineering requires a higher minimum average (80%) and more credit hours (160 versus 132).
  4. 4 Look at the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship and student clubs such as IEEE, ACM and the Cybersecurity Club if you want competitions and start-up experience.

Costs & financial aid

2026-27 · figures in JOD

Per year, converted from per-credit fees over the study-plan length: computing and business programmes have 132 credit hours and a guidance plan of four years (eight semesters, per the PSUT computer science and software engineering study plans), so business 132 x 120 JD = 15,840 JD in total = 3,960 a year and computing 132 x 130 = 17,160 = 4,290 a year; engineering has 160 credits (160 x 130 = 20,800) and the five-year length used here (4,160 a year) is an assumption, as no engineering study-plan duration could be fetched.
