Guwahati Airport is approximately 168 kilometres away; the suggested route is by taxi or shared taxi to Shillong and then onward to Sohra. Guwahati is also the nearest railway station, approximately 148 kilometres from Sohra. Official guidance estimates roughly three hours from Guwahati to Shillong and another two hours from Shillong to Sohra, although actual conditions can vary. Prospective students should budget for the final road transfer and confirm arrival arrangements with the institute, particularly around reporting dates. The setting may appeal to students who prefer a residential hill campus, but frequent access to a major city or rail hub requires advance planning.
