Student life is centered on the permanent residential campus in Cuncolim. NIT Goa operates separate hostels for men and women, with warden and caretaker supervision, round-the-clock security, CCTV and Wi-Fi. Official hostel information lists furnished single-occupancy rooms as well as double-occupancy rooms intended for first-year students. The hostels have integrated dining facilities, study and television rooms, reading areas, sick rooms and laundry provision. Location & Surroundings

NIT Goa’s current campus is at Kottamoll Plateau in Cuncolim Municipal Area, Salcete Taluka, South Goa. This is a material change from the older Farmagudi/Ponda transit-campus location still shown in the database record. The institute began functioning at Cuncolim in January 2024, so prospective students should use the Cuncolim address for navigation and travel planning. The institute places Cuncolim about 15 kilometres from Margao, one of South Goa’s main urban and transport centers. Its official overview identifies Madgaon Railway Station as the nearest major rail station, also roughly 15 kilometres away. Dabolim Airport is reported at approximately 38 kilometres, while Manohar International Airport at Mopa is considerably farther away. Actual journey times will depend on traffic and transport availability. The setting offers access to Goa but is not a central Panaji or beach-town campus. Students should expect a more self-contained residential environment and plan transport for shopping, intercity connections and off-campus activities. Cuncolim and Margao provide the most relevant local reference points, while air and rail links connect the campus with other parts of India.

Costs & Career Outcomes

NIT Goa publishes separate fee schedules by degree, student category and semester. Applicants should budget from the official schedule tied to their admission year because tuition, institute charges, hostel costs and mess charges are not interchangeable. The 2026 B.Tech. reporting instructions required students to pay the full first-semester amount before any eligible remission was refunded. For 2026–27, SC, ST and PwD students were exempt from tuition, while eligible General, EWS and OBC-NCL students could claim full or two-thirds tuition remission depending on documented family income. These provisions require current financial-year documents and should not be treated as automatic discounts. Residential students pay hostel-related charges in addition to academic fees, with mess charges included where specified by the reporting notice. International or DASA candidates and self-financed M.Tech. students can face different fee rules.
