Charges vary substantially by program, admission category, housing status, and eligibility for remission. For newly admitted 2026–27 B.Tech students through JoSAA or CSAB, NITK listed a first-semester institute fee of INR 110,110 for a hosteller and INR 100,850 for a day scholar in the GEN, OBC, and EWS categories. The corresponding listed totals for SC, ST, and PwD students were INR 47,610 and INR 38,350. Hostellers also had a first-semester mess charge of INR 35,310. These are cohort-specific figures, not annual estimates. The same 2026–27 instructions state that eligible GEN, GEN-EWS, and OBC-NCL students can receive full tuition remission where annual family income is below INR 100,000, or two-thirds remission where it is between INR 100,000 and INR 500,000.
