Student Life & Environment

NIT Calicut is a residential campus with a large hostel system. The institute reports eleven hostels for men and three for women, collectively accommodating about 6,800 students. Costs & Career Outcomes

Costs vary substantially by program, admission channel, category, and nationality. The official 2026–27 postgraduate and doctoral schedule should therefore be read program by program. For example, regular CCMN M.Sc students were charged INR 7,500 tuition per semester, while the first Monsoon semester total was INR 87,600 because it included other and one-time charges. The same schedule listed INR 75,000 tuition per semester for the regular CAT-based MBA, with a first-semester total of INR 161,100. It also recorded tuition exemptions for SC/ST students in those categories, subject to government rules. These examples must not be generalized to undergraduate, sponsored, self-sponsored, DASA, or other international categories. Housing is billed separately. For 2026–27, the undergraduate hostel schedule listed INR 25,500 in one-time hostel charges at admission, including a refundable INR 15,000 caution and furniture deposit. Mess, seat rent, and establishment charges were additional. The PG and PhD hostel schedule listed INR 72,000 payable at admission, combining one-time charges with the initial hostel and mess amounts.
