About MSU
Management and Science University (MSU) is a private university in Shah Alam, the capital of Selangor, between Kuala Lumpur and Klang. It was founded in 2001 as the University College of Technology and Management Malaysia and became a full university in October 2004, when its current main building opened. MSU describes itself as a dual-sector university, running technical and vocational (TVET) pathways alongside diplomas, bachelor's degrees and postgraduate study.
Teaching is organised into the Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies, the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering, the International Medical School, the Schools of Pharmacy, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Education and Social Sciences, and Hospitality and Creative Arts, plus graduate schools and a Centre for Fundamental Studies. Health sciences are a real strength: MSU is the first private university in Malaysia to own and operate its own specialist hospital, the 14-storey MSU Medical Centre, and its School of Veterinary Medicine was the first in a Malaysian private university accredited by the Malaysian Veterinary Council.
The university is strongly career-focused. It reports a 99% graduate employability rate from the Ministry of Higher Education tracer study, more than 3,000 industry partners who advise on curricula, and students from over 40 countries. MSU suits students who want a practical, industry-linked degree, flexible intakes through the year, or a route into medicine, dentistry, pharmacy or veterinary science at a private Malaysian university.
Why students choose MSU
Clinical programmes train alongside MSU Medical Centre, the specialist hospital the university owns and runs in Shah Alam.
The five-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine is taught at the first private-university veterinary school accredited by the Malaysian Veterinary Council and the MQA.
International students can start in February, April, July, September or November rather than waiting for a single autumn intake.
The YM SMILE Scholarship covers full tuition for high-achieving international applicants on selected bachelor's programmes such as Computer Science, Bioinformatics and Economics and Finance.
