Student Life & Environment

Location & Surroundings

MCAST’s main campus is on Triq Kordin in Paola, within Malta’s densely connected urban area around the Grand Harbour. Paola serves as the principal administrative and teaching base, but applicants should verify where their programme is delivered before choosing housing or estimating travel time. The Institute for the Creative Arts is based at the Mosta campus. MCAST also identifies a Gozo campus in Għajnsielem and an Applied Sciences centre for agriculture, aquatics, and animal sciences on Luqa Road in Qormi. A course located on Gozo creates a materially different travel and housing decision from one based in Paola or Mosta, as Gozo is a separate island reached from Malta by ferry. Those figures should not be treated as current for 2026–2027; non-EU applicants should obtain the applicable amount from their offer or the International Office before making a financial commitment. The fee page says instalment plans are available and that visa applicants must pay the first instalment before MCAST issues the documentation needed for a student-visa application. Living costs require separate planning because MCAST provides no student housing. Students must arrange private accommodation, and international students should also allow for insurance, immigration-related expenses, travel, and any course-specific equipment or placement costs. The 2025 handbook notes a private health-screening cost of about €250 for third-country nationals, but applicants should verify the current charge and whether the requirement applies to them.
