About LPU
Lovely Professional University was established in 2005 by the Lovely Group, founded by the late Baldev Raj Mittal, and has grown into a very large private university. Its single campus sits on the Jalandhar-Delhi G.T. Road at Phagwara in Punjab, and it holds a NAAC A++ grade (score 3.68).
LPU offers more than 150 programmes across engineering, computer applications, management, pharmacy, law, agriculture, architecture, design, hotel management, sciences, humanities and physical education. Admission is flexible: for B.Tech, merit in LPU's own entrance and scholarship test (LPUNEST), JEE (Main) or CUET can be used, and the fee you pay depends heavily on your scholarship category, which is set by those scores and your 12th-grade marks.
In its NIRF 2026 data LPU reported about 29,400 undergraduates, 5,200 master's students and 1,800 PhD scholars, including around 1,770 students from outside India; the university itself cites more than 3,000 international students. It suits students who want a very large, busy campus with many programme options, sports facilities and substantial scholarships, and who are comfortable with a private-university fee model in which early, high-scoring applicants pay far less than the headline fee.

Selectivity
LPU does not publish an acceptance rate. Most applicants who meet the minimum marks (for B.Tech CSE, 60% in 10+2 with physics, mathematics and English) and qualify LPUNEST can be admitted; the entrance and 12th-grade scores mainly decide the scholarship slab and therefore the fee.
