About LUC
Lincoln University College (LUC) was founded in Petaling Jaya in 2002 as Lincoln College and was upgraded to a university college in 2011. It is a private institution approved by Malaysia's Ministry of Higher Education and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), and it lists every programme with its MQA accreditation code. Its main sites are Wisma Lincoln and a learning site in Kelana Jaya, about 10 km west of Kuala Lumpur; medical students spend their clinical years in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
LUC is small but very international: QS's profile lists about 4,000 students, of whom about 2,400 (59%) are international, and 725 academic staff. It teaches mainly in English across schools of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy (including traditional and complementary medicine), health and applied science, business, hospitality, education, accounting, social sciences, AI computing and multimedia, engineering, and performing arts and design. It also runs foundation years, an American Degree Transfer Programme, open distance learning and many research-based master's and PhD degrees.
Admission to most bachelor's degrees follows Malaysia's national minimum entry rules (for example STPM, A-level, UEC or a recognised foundation), while the MD and dental degrees follow stricter Malaysian Medical Council criteria. LUC suits students who want an English-taught, government-accredited degree near Kuala Lumpur, several intakes a year, and a campus where many classmates come from abroad.
Why students choose LUC
Many degrees have three intakes a year (for example March, July and November for Computer Science in Artificial Intelligence), so you do not have to wait a full year to start.
A five-year Doctor of Medicine with two pre-clinical years in Petaling Jaya and three clinical years in hospitals in Kota Bharu, Kelantan; LUC says its medical faculty is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools.
An international community: QS's profile counts about 2,400 international students out of about 4,000.
Unusual health programmes alongside mainstream ones, such as Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, Cardiopulmonary and Perfusion Technology and Medical Imaging.

|---|---|
| UEC | At least grade B in five subjects including Mathematics and English (e.g. Computer Science AI) |
| Foundation / Matriculation | A government-recognised foundation or matriculation programme with CGPA 2.0 (non-medical degrees) |

Students from English-speaking countries or with English-medium schooling may be exempt with a medium-of-instruction letter. |

How to apply
Apply online through LUC's application portal with academic certificates and transcripts (translated if not in English), passport pages, a photo, a health declaration and English test results. International students then receive an offer letter, and LUC applies to Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) for the Visa Approval Letter (eVAL), which LUC says generally takes 2-4 weeks.
What admissions looks for
- The Malaysian minimum entry qualifications for your programme, including required subject credits such as SPM Mathematics for computing degrees.
- For Medicine, B grades in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics at A-level (or equivalent), plus fitness to practise under Malaysian Medical Council guidelines.
- Adequate English, shown by MUET, IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or Cambridge results, or an approved exemption.
- A complete document set so that EMGS can process your student visa.
Tips for applying to LUC
- 1 Check the MQA code and accreditation status listed next to your programme on LUC's programme list; some programmes have provisional rather than full accreditation.
- 2 International students must pay all first-year fees, the registration fee and the security bond before travelling, so ask for a written fee breakdown before accepting an offer.
- 3 If your English score is below the requirement, you can start with LUC's intensive English course, but you have 12 months to reach the required level.
- 4 If you plan to practise medicine outside Malaysia, confirm that an LUC degree lets you sit the licensing exam in that country; LUC says this is the applicant's responsibility.
- 5 Scholarships are awarded first come, first served, so apply for one at the same time as your programme.
