Student Life & Environment

The Lucknow campus is designed around residential study. IIM Lucknow reports housing capacity for more than 1,000 students and describes the campus as covering more than 200 acres. Its facilities include the Gyanodaya library, computing infrastructure, retail services, a cafeteria, banks and a post office. The official campus-life page says the library is accessible around the clock. Recreation includes grounds and courts for football, cricket, squash, tennis, basketball, volleyball and badminton, together with a gym, swimming pool and other indoor facilities. The institute also describes cultural activities, yoga, a health centre, resident medical support and round-the-clock ambulance availability. These facilities provide a substantial on-campus environment, but availability and charges should be confirmed for the relevant program. The student experience differs at Noida. IPMX is residential and its published fee includes basic single-occupancy accommodation, while the 2026–28 PGPWE is expressly non-residential, with accommodation offered only on request, subject to availability and additional payment. Blended-MBA participants mainly study online with scheduled Lucknow campus modules. Applicants should therefore base housing and extracurricular expectations on their own program and campus, not on institute-wide promotional material.

Location & Surroundings

The main campus is in Prabandh Nagar on IIM Road, on the outskirts of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The institute’s campus-life information places it about eight kilometres from the city and says need-based transport connects residents with urban amenities and schools. An official travel page describes Lucknow as accessible by air, rail and road, although its specific distance figures should be treated as route-dependent rather than exact journey times. The setting offers a quieter, self-contained residential environment rather than a central-city campus. Everyday services available on site reduce the need for frequent travel, but students considering internships, evening activities or regular city access should investigate current transport options and travel times. IIM Lucknow’s second campus is in Sector 62, Noida, within the Delhi National Capital Region. It is a separate study location used particularly for executive programs and benefits from proximity to the NCR corporate environment. Applicants must check the program page carefully: admission to IIM Lucknow does not necessarily mean studying in Lucknow, and some programs may include travel, campus modules or international immersion.

Costs & Career Outcomes

Costs differ sharply by program and intake. The official PGP and PGP-ABM page links a fee schedule specifically for the 2026–28 batch, so applicants should use that document rather than an older headline figure. It also describes a need-based IIM Lucknow scholarship open to eligible students based on total gross family income, subject to announced criteria, academic progress and a rule that a student may not hold more than one scholarship. Central, state and other external scholarships may also be available. For comparison, the 2026–28 PGPWE lists tuition and covered academic services at INR 1,100,000, plus a refundable INR 10,000 caution deposit, INR 5,000 alumni fee and applicable taxes. Its mandatory international immersion is additional, and the program is non-residential. The 2026–28 blended MBA lists a total fee of INR 1,500,000 and states that IIM Lucknow offers no direct financial aid for that program. IPMX for 2027–28 lists INR 2,600,000, plus refundable caution and alumni charges; basic accommodation, meals and specified overseas-module costs are included, but airfare and incidentals are not. Career support also varies. IIM Lucknow publishes program-specific placement reports rather than one institute-wide outcome. Its 2024–25 annual report recorded 604 offers in the 2025 final-placement cycle for the combined PGP and PGP-ABM cohort, with mean and median annual compensation of INR 3.23 million and INR 3.10 million. These are historical cohort outcomes, not promised salaries. The blended MBA has no dedicated placement cell, while IPMX provides career-development support for non-sponsored students.
