Student Life & Environment

The Indore campus is residential, with single-seat and twin-sharing accommodation available across student residences and separate blocks or floors for men and women. Hostel rooms are furnished and connected to the institute network. Common rooms provide space for informal gatherings and indoor recreation, while messes, canteens, a student-run general store, banking access, a post office, and a medical centre address routine needs on campus. Student activities are largely coordinated through the Students’ Activities Council and program-specific student bodies. This creates opportunities to organize events and services, although participation must be balanced against the institute’s demanding academic schedule. Location & Surroundings

IIM Indore’s main campus is at Prabandh Shikhar on Rau-Pithampur Road, with the official postal address placing it in Indore district, Madhya Pradesh. The 193-acre site sits on a hillock outside the dense central-city environment. This gives residential students an integrated academic and social setting, but daily life is more campus-centered than it would be at a downtown institution. The campus provides transport services and many practical amenities, including food outlets, banking facilities, medical support, a post office, recreation, and student accommodation. These reduce the need for routine trips into the city. Applicants should nevertheless consider travel time when arranging arrival, internships, or off-campus activities and verify current transport timetables directly with the institute. Indore is a major urban center with road, rail, and air connections, while the campus’s Rau-Pithampur Road position also places it toward an important industrial corridor. This can be useful context for management students, but the institute does not promise that location alone will provide any particular internship or employment outcome.

Costs & Career Outcomes

For the IPM 2026–31 intake, the published course fee for each of the first three academic years was INR 600,000 for domestic participants and INR 900,000 for international participants. The course fee included lodging, internet and library access, but excluded textbooks. Separate refundable caution and mess deposits applied. Fees for years four and five follow the prevailing PGP structure rather than the first-three-year IPM rate. For the PGP 2026–28 batch, the institute listed course fees of INR 1,200,000 in each academic year for Indian students admitted through CAT, or INR 1,800,000 per year for NRI/foreign-national students admitted through the designated route. The published totals also included or identified a caution deposit, mess deposit, alumni fee, and applicable tax. These are program- and cohort-specific figures, not universal tuition rates. Need-Based Financial Assistance is open to admitted PGP, PGP-HRM, and IPM participants whose annual family income is below INR 1,200,000. Awards are not automatic: the committee evaluates income, family assets, submitted evidence, disciplinary records, and, for some applicants, a personal interaction. The amount is determined annually. IIM Indore operates formal placement processes and publishes cohort placement reports. These reports can help applicants examine recruiting sectors and batch composition, but outcomes are cohort-specific and do not guarantee an individual role or salary. Students should compare the latest report for their own program, since PGP, IPM dual-degree, and executive cohorts differ in experience and recruiting markets.
