Student Life & Environment

Student life is spread across several metropolitan campuses, so daily experience depends strongly on the chosen course. Holmesglen provides student-wellbeing support at Chadstone, Moorabbin, Glen Waverley, Bourke Street and Drummond Street, with appointments available in person, online or by phone. Higher-education learning support includes individual learning-skills assistance, workshops and online resources. The campuses are working educational environments shared with vocational students rather than a single residential university precinct. Facilities reflect the programs taught at each location: Chadstone has fashion, IT and design spaces; Moorabbin has a health precinct and the student training restaurant Cilantro; and Glen Waverley has hospitality kitchens, the Zest student restaurant, early-childhood practice space and fitness facilities. Applicants seeking a conventional residential or society-heavy university experience should investigate the activities available at their actual teaching campus. Holmesglen does not directly manage accommodation agreements. International students can consider homestay or independent student-housing providers, but must contact the provider, compare costs and inclusions, and sign the agreement themselves. Local students can obtain housing-search guidance. Because placement-based courses may involve travel beyond the teaching campus, students should include transport to placements when assessing housing and study logistics.

Location & Surroundings

Holmesglen operates across Melbourne rather than from one central campus. Chadstone, at Batesford and Warrigal Roads, is the head-office location and is adjacent to Holmesglen railway station on the Glen Waverley line. It hosts building and construction facilities as well as fashion studios, IT laboratories and building-design spaces. Moorabbin, on South Road, serves Melbourne’s bayside area and contains the institute’s health precinct, Renewable Energy Centre for Excellence and Cilantro training restaurant. The leafy Glen Waverley campus supports hospitality, early childhood, environment and fitness training. Bourke Street is in Melbourne’s central business district near Chinatown, retail and public transport, although the current campus overview associates it specifically with diploma-level nursing. Drummond Street in Chadstone focuses on electrical, civil and industrial-skills training, while North Melbourne is another listed training location. Degree applicants should not assume that a Melbourne address means CBD study. They should confirm the delivery campus on the individual course page and consider commuting, placement travel, parking and public-transport connections before choosing accommodation.

Costs & Career Outcomes

Tuition is not represented by one institute-wide figure. Fees differ by qualification, course, citizenship or residency status, study load and funding eligibility, and Holmesglen directs students to individual course pages for indicative charges. Domestic students should distinguish higher-education tuition and available Commonwealth assistance from Victorian vocational subsidies such as Free TAFE, which do not automatically cover bachelor degrees. International students pay the fee current at the beginning of each study period; Holmesglen states that fees and other charges are reviewed annually and that tuition is due each semester, two weeks before classes begin. Living costs are separate. Holmesglen does not operate accommodation contracts, so students must obtain current prices directly from homestay, student-housing or rental providers and budget for utilities, internet, transport and any bond. Course materials, equipment, uniforms, checks and placement travel may also vary by program and should be confirmed before accepting an offer. For 2026, a limited AUD 1,000 higher-education pathway scholarship is available to eligible domestic current students or alumni entering specified bachelor degrees; it is not open to international students. Career preparation is embedded through work-integrated learning, internships, applied projects and industry interaction where the course provides them. The Holmesglen Employment Centre and Skills and Jobs Centre also offer career-pathway advice, résumé and application assistance, interview preparation, workshops and job-search resources.
