Student Life & Environment

The Wismar campus concentrates nearly all laboratories and facilities serving Wismar-based programs within a relatively compact area. Campus maps identify teaching buildings, the university library, language and sports facilities, student administration, and faculty spaces. The Studierendenwerk Rostock-Wismar operates furnished student residences in Wismar, generally with shared kitchens and bathrooms, and students must apply separately. Experience differs at Rostock-Warnemünde. Maritime students have a coastal campus near port activity, access to Rostock’s urban and cultural life, and eligibility for local university-sport opportunities. Winter 2026/27 semester contributions are substantially different at the two locations because Warnemünde’s contribution includes transport and culture-ticket components that are absent in Wismar.

Hochschule Wismar states that it does not charge tuition for its regular on-campus degree courses. Contributions are time-sensitive and must be checked again for later semesters. Housing is a separate expense, and residence capacity is not guaranteed.
