Student Life & Environment

Campus life is concentrated on a shared higher-education site used by Hochschule Flensburg and Europa-Universität Flensburg. The university’s campus information identifies a central library, dining facilities, the AStA student organization, a campus shop and a sports centre within short walking distances. Food is available through the main dining hall and additional campus outlets, while members of Hochschule Flensburg can access the neighboring university’s sports facilities at student-oriented rates. The campus is separate from the historic waterfront and city centre but remains connected to them. Hochschule Flensburg states that it does not charge general tuition fees, but enrolled students pay a compulsory semester contribution. For winter semester 2026/27, the total is €392: €89 for the Studentenwerk, €16.20 for the student body, €226.80 for the statewide semester ticket issued as a Deutschlandticket, and a €60 administrative charge. New students also pay an €80 enrolment-processing fee. These figures apply specifically to winter 2026/27 and may change in later semesters. Living costs are separate and depend heavily on accommodation and personal choices.
