Student Life & Environment

Student life is centered on Habib’s single Karachi campus. The Office of Student Life supports clubs, student organizations, leadership development, public service, community engagement, and activities both on and off campus. First-year programming helps new students understand academic expectations, identify personal and career goals, and connect with university services and the wider student community. Health and wellness support includes an on-campus clinic, mental-health counseling, wellness activities, sports facilities, gyms, and a swimming pool. The 2026 student-services handbook also identifies offices for academic performance, career services, student finance, and registrar-related assistance. These services provide clear points of contact for academic difficulty, wellbeing concerns, fee questions, course administration, and career planning. A major limitation for students arriving from elsewhere is housing. Habib does not operate student hostels, so students from outside Karachi must arrange their own accommodation. University materials describe guidance through residential-support programming, but applicants should not interpret this as guaranteed housing. Before enrolling, relocating students should assess commuting time, rental costs, household arrangements, and transport to Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Campus participation may be active, but the experience is not that of a residential university with university-managed halls.

Habib University is located in Block 18 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Karachi, with access from University Avenue off Shahrah-e-Faisal Road. Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission lists Karachi as the institution’s only recognized campus. Karachi is Pakistan’s largest commercial center, so students study within a major environment for technology, finance, media, design, development work, and industry. That setting can support internships, employer events, community projects, and field-based learning across Habib’s academic areas. The practical experience depends heavily on where a student lives. Habib is a nonresidential institution without university hostels, and students moving to Karachi must secure their own accommodation. Prospective students should compare neighborhoods, daily transport options, commuting times, and total living expenses rather than evaluating tuition alone. International and out-of-city students should arrange housing well before arrival and confirm any available guidance directly with the university. The campus itself brings teaching, laboratories, studios, the library, student services, wellness facilities, and recreation into one site. Applicants seeking multiple campuses or a traditional residential setting should therefore look elsewhere; Habib’s model is a single urban campus embedded in Karachi.

Costs & Career Outcomes

For entrants in the Class of 2030, Habib’s official 2026–27 schedule lists tuition of PKR 780,000 per semester. Science and engineering students also pay a PKR 215,000 laboratory fee per semester, while arts, humanities, and social sciences students pay a PKR 160,000 studio and laboratory fee. A PKR 32,000 semester registration fee applies from the second semester. One-time charges include a PKR 7,500 application fee, a refundable PKR 30,000 security deposit, and an enrollment fee of PKR 70,000 for Round 1 or PKR 110,000 for Round 2. Applicable taxes and future fee changes may add to these amounts. Scholarships and need-based grants can reduce billed costs. Published routes include merit awards for applicants from international examination boards and support programs for national-board applicants. Financial aid is assessed through a separate application in the admissions portal and must meet the applicable admissions-cycle deadline. Students may also seek paid campus roles from their second semester, subject to academic requirements. Housing, transport, technology, supplies, and other personal expenses require separate budgeting because Habib does not provide hostels. Career Services offers advising, mentoring, résumé and interview preparation, employer events, internship and job resources, industry projects, entrepreneurial resources, and graduate-school planning. These services support exploration from the undergraduate years onward, but the university does not publish guaranteed employment or salary outcomes on the cited pages.
