Student experience is distributed across UCM’s campuses, faculties, and residential colleges rather than concentrated in one self-contained site. University-managed colegios mayores provide accommodation alongside communal and educational activities. Four of UCM’s five colleges are located within Ciudad Universitaria, while the fifth is in nearby Moncloa. Published services include full-board dining, laundry, common spaces, and access to UCM facilities subject to student conditions. Places are allocated through a separate application process and are not guaranteed by university admission. Campus facilities and participation opportunities vary by location. Location & Surroundings

UCM’s two principal campuses are Moncloa and Somosaguas. Moncloa forms part of Ciudad Universitaria in northwest Madrid and is integrated into the city’s university district. It has metro and bus connections and places students within reach of central Madrid’s cultural, administrative, and commercial resources. Some UCM premises are also located in the city centre. Somosaguas lies in a residential area on Madrid’s western outskirts. It houses the faculties of Economics and Business Administration, Political and Social Sciences, Psychology, and Social Work, together with the Institute for International Studies, School of Government, and a sports centre. The campus has more open space but requires a different commute from central Madrid or Moncloa. Applicants should identify the teaching location for their particular programme before arranging housing. A degree’s faculty may determine whether proximity to Ciudad Universitaria or transport toward Somosaguas is more practical. Madrid’s wider public-transport network provides airport and city connections, but travel time and late-evening service should be assessed against an individual timetable.

Costs & Career Outcomes

UCM charges public tuition prices regulated within the Community of Madrid. For 2026–2027, the university publishes separate price schedules for bachelor’s, university master’s, and doctoral study. The total is not a single flat tuition figure: it depends on the programme, number of credits, first or repeated enrolment, administrative charges, and the student’s legal or residency category. UCM states that qualifying non-EU students without Spanish residence are charged at the fourth-enrolment rate for bachelor’s study and the third-enrolment rate for master’s study. Students should use the official 2026–2027 fee tables or calculator for their own case. At enrolment, students may choose full payment or instalments. The published arrangements allow eight instalments for enrolment completed in June or July, or six or five for enrolment in September or October. Statutory exemptions and deductions are available for eligible categories, but documentation and validity requirements apply. Housing, food, transport, insurance, and study materials must be budgeted separately. University-college accommodation has its own application, contract, and pricing structure, so it should not be treated as included in tuition.
