Student Life & Environment

Student experience at CFJ is organized around a specialized professional school rather than a large residential campus. The school says teaching groups contain no more than about 20 students and are often smaller, creating a workshop-oriented setting for reporting exercises, production work and editorial feedback. For 2026–2027, CFJ lists annual tuition of €7,500 for the Bachelor in Information, Media and Journalism, reduced to €6,900 for eligible need-based higher-education scholarship recipients. Standard Bac+5 tuition is €6,800 per year. For eligible CROUS scholarship holders, the Bac+5 rate falls to €4,000 at levels 0 bis and 1 and €2,750 at levels 2–4; students at levels 5–7 pay no tuition. Apprentices are exempt from tuition in proportion to the period covered by their apprenticeship contract. Route-specific prices differ. CFJ lists €6,100 per year, plus Sciences Po Lyon fees, for the Investigation and Data double diploma; €9,500 for the one-year diploma; €7,000 per year for a French applicant holding a foreign qualification; and €9,500 per year for a foreign national holding a foreign qualification.
