Student Life & Environment

AUBG’s undergraduate experience is residential and centered on the Skaptopara campus. The university operates three residence halls: Skaptopara I, II, and III. Depending on the building, shared facilities include study and social areas, laundry services, fitness or multipurpose rooms, communal kitchens, and a cafeteria. Resident assistants work with the Residence Life and Housing Office and organize community and wellness activities. Housing policy materially affects undergraduate planning. Location & Surroundings

AUBG’s main campus is in Blagoevgrad in southwestern Bulgaria, near the Rila Mountains and approximately an hour from Sofia according to the university’s location guide. Blagoevgrad is a university city shared with South-West University, which gives the area a substantial student presence. The campus lies along the Bistritsa River, with its residence halls, academic buildings, library, and student center within walking distance of one another. The setting offers a different experience from studying in Bulgaria’s capital. Students receive a compact residential environment and access to cafés, city services, hiking, mountain recreation, and regional cultural sites, while major international transport connections are concentrated in Sofia. AUBG offers admitted students a paid transfer option from Sofia Airport, but travelers can also investigate public transport independently. Costs and schedules should be checked close to travel because they can change. The university’s Sofia facility has a distinct purpose. The Elieff Center in Studentski Grad is an accredited instructional location used for the Executive MBA and executive education. Prospective undergraduates should therefore expect their ordinary academic and residential life to be based in Blagoevgrad, not Sofia.

Costs & Career Outcomes

For the 2026/27 academic year, AUBG lists undergraduate tuition of €6,900 per semester. It separately lists a €320 student activity fee and a €200 meal-plan deposit per semester. Published campus housing charges range from €925 to €1,700 per semester depending on building and room type.
