About Anáhuac México

Universidad Anáhuac México is a private Catholic university run in the tradition of the Legionaries of Christ. Its north campus began in 1964 in a house in Lomas Virreyes with 48 students in two degrees, according to Wikipedia, and its south campus opened in 1981. The two campuses, Norte in Huixquilucan (State of Mexico) and Sur in Alvaro Obregon (Mexico City), were merged into one university in 2016; QS ranks it as a single institution, 'Universidad Anahuac Mexico', and the published tuition rates below apply to both campuses. Its stated mission is to form leaders of positive action inspired by Christian humanism.

The undergraduate list has more than 45 programmes, from Actuarial Science, Law, Medicine and Dentistry to Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, Gastronomy and Contemporary Music. They are grouped into faculties and schools including Architecture, Arts, Actuarial Sciences, Health Sciences, Communication, Law, Design, Economics and Business, Education and Humanities, Global Studies, Engineering, Psychology, Social Responsibility, and Tourism and Gastronomy. The curriculum includes a compulsory Anáhuac block on ethics, leadership and personal development, and, according to the Law degree plan, students take at least five subjects in English and five online.

Applicants pass an academic knowledge exam, a psychometric test and a personal interview, and pay per credit rather than a flat tuition. It suits students who want a private Catholic campus in the Mexico City area, can study in Spanish and are prepared to pay private fees; means-tested and merit support of 10 to 100 percent is available.
