About Universidad Europea
Universidad Europea is a private university that says it has offered education in Spain since 1995 and describes itself as the largest university network in the country. Its campuses are in Madrid (Villaviciosa de Odón, Alcobendas and a Creative Campus for design), Valencia, Alicante, Málaga and the Canary Islands (Santa Cruz and La Orotava), and it also runs online programmes and the Escuela Universitaria Real Madrid for sports studies. Wikipedia notes that Laureate Education sold it to Permira in 2019, and that EQT bought a majority stake in 2024.
On its English homepage the university reports 40 percent international students from more than 110 nationalities, more than 80 student clubs and 91.1 percent employability within 15 months of graduation. The Madrid campus page gives 33 percent international students from up to 60 nationalities and says the university has 22,000 collaboration agreements with companies.
Teaching follows what it calls a learning-by-doing model, with a simulated hospital, a wind tunnel and a media production unit at the Villaviciosa de Odón campus. Some degrees, such as International Relations, can be studied 100 percent in English, and Physiotherapy is offered in Spanish, English and French.
Rankings note: QS lists the whole Universidad Europea group (four Spanish universities under one name), while THE lists it as the European University of Madrid. The university suits students who want a campus-based private university in Spain with English-taught options and who can fund tuition of roughly EUR 9,000 to 24,000 a year at the Madrid campus, before scholarships.
