TAMK is one of Finland’s universities of applied sciences, a category of higher-education institution designed around professional preparation, applied knowledge and cooperation with working life. Bachelor’s degrees are generally planned for 3.5 or four years and comprise 210 or 240 ECTS credits, depending on the field. Student Life & Environment

Student life is distributed across TAMK’s Tampere campuses and the wider Tampere Universities community. New students receive support from student tutors, who help them become familiar with their programme, meet peers and adjust to the study environment. As of TAMK’s July 2026 update, the tuition fee is €12,000 per academic year for all its degree programmes. In general, this applies to citizens from outside the EU, EEA and Switzerland studying in English-taught bachelor’s or master’s programmes. Certain Finnish residence statuses provide exemptions, and eligibility depends on the permit and its basis, so applicants should use TAMK’s current fee guidance rather than infer liability from nationality alone. TAMK offers cohort-based tuition waivers. For bachelor’s entrants, the published Early Bird arrangement can waive the second 50% instalment when an offer is accepted and the first instalment paid within the specified 14-day period; waiting-list entrants may not qualify. Continuing bachelor’s students can earn waivers based on annual credit completion, with a larger waiver tied to both progress and specified Finnish-language evidence. Newly admitted master’s students may receive a 20% early-payment discount, while later waivers depend on credit progress. Exact terms should be checked in the conditional offer and cohort rules. TAMK estimates ordinary living costs in Tampere at €800–€1,200 per month, including typical student housing of about €200–€600; private-market rent may start around €600. Housing is not guaranteed. Students must also plan for transport, food, health-service fees, insurance where required and occasional materials.
