It received university status in 1982 and now operates as Nyenrode Business Universiteit. Admission is program-specific. For the BSc in Business Administration starting in August 2027, Nyenrode publishes an initial deadline of January 15, 2027 and a final deadline of May 1, 2027. Dutch VWO applicants need adequate mathematics and English results, while requirements for European Baccalaureate, A-level, and other international qualifications are assessed through separate credential criteria. The application process includes the online admissions portal, an LTP personality assessment, and a personal interview. Meeting a supplementary mathematics requirement does not by itself guarantee admission, and places are limited. The full-time MSc uses a different academic review. Student experience differs substantially between Breukelen and Amsterdam. Breukelen is the more residential option: students can live and study on the Nijenrode estate, where university materials list a library, private study rooms, a restaurant, laundry facilities, sports fields and courts, a gym, and student social spaces. Location & Surroundings

The main campus is at Straatweg 25 in Breukelen, between Amsterdam and Utrecht. It occupies the wooded Nijenrode estate on the River Vecht, with a castle whose origins date to the thirteenth century. Official campus information describes Breukelen as approximately 10 minutes from Utrecht and 30 minutes from Amsterdam by train. The town itself is a short bicycle ride from campus and provides everyday retail services. This setting offers an unusual residential university experience within the Netherlands: classrooms, housing, sports facilities, study areas, and student activities are concentrated on the estate. The tradeoff is that daily life can be campus-centered, and reaching major-city amenities requires local travel. Nyenrode’s Amsterdam location is at Keizersgracht 285 in the historic canal district. It offers direct access to an urban business environment but does not replicate the estate-campus model. Costs & Career Outcomes

Nyenrode charges private-university tuition, and costs vary sharply by program. For the BSc, the university labels its currently displayed figures as applying to academic year 2026–2027: €24,000 in year one, €25,500 in year two, and €27,000 in year three. It also lists a €175 application fee, estimated course-material costs of €750–€900, Breukelen housing of €360–€700, and Amsterdam housing of €900–€1,200. A limited 2026 housing offer lists €250 monthly rent for specified room types, excluding service costs normally stated as €225–€250 per month. MBA scholarships listed for Dutch and international candidates range from €10,000 to €15,000. Nyenrode states that scholarships are partial and students must fund at least half of tuition plus living and other expenses.
