Student Life & Environment

Student life at MCW is shaped by graduate and professional education rather than a residential undergraduate model. Location & Surroundings

MCW’s main campus is at the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center, with an official mailing address on Watertown Plank Road in Milwaukee. The academic-health-center setting places students near major clinical partners, including Froedtert Hospital, Children’s Wisconsin, and the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. Milwaukee students can therefore move among academic, research, and clinical environments, although actual placements and access depend on their program. The institution’s other medical-school locations serve distinct regions. MCW-Green Bay delivers an accelerated, community-based MD program in northeastern Wisconsin. MCW-Central Wisconsin is based in Wausau and similarly uses a three-year curriculum oriented toward the health needs of central and rural communities. Students at these campuses use local educational and clinical partnerships rather than simply commuting to Milwaukee. No institution-operated residential system was verified. MCW instead provides separate community housing resources for Milwaukee, Green Bay, and Central Wisconsin and explicitly states that listings are not vetted or endorsed. Costs & Career Outcomes

Costs differ by school, program, year, residency classification, and insurance choice. For first-year MD students in 2026–2027, published tuition is $70,800 at all campuses for both Wisconsin and non-Wisconsin residents. The schedule lists additional charges, including a first-year laptop fee, student activity and technology fees, insurance, and other required items. Wisconsin residents may receive estimated state medical-student assistance, but MCW states that the amount is subject to change. Applicants should use the campus-specific cost-of-attendance budget, which adds living and personal expenses to billed charges. PharmD tuition is set annually and is the same for in-state, out-of-state, and international students. MCW notes that insurance, laptops, books, transportation, housing, and various fees may be additional. Pharmacy scholarships depend on available funding, and priority for the 2027 entering class goes to eligible students admitted by April 1, 2027. Graduate financing varies sharply: MCW states that full-time PhD students in good standing receive an annual stipend and tuition reimbursement, while the Graduate School does not currently provide scholarships for master’s students. Eligible degree-seeking master’s students may pursue federal aid; certificate and non-degree students are not eligible for federal aid through MCW. Career preparation is integrated into professional training through clinical experience, mentoring, advising, and residency support. In the 2026 medical Match, 237 MCW students obtained first-year residency positions, including 87 who continued training in Wisconsin.
