How Admissions Work
First-year applicants use MIT’s own application portal. The current admissions page lists the application form, essays and activities information, academic record, SAT or ACT scores, two teacher recommendations, a Secondary School Report with transcript, and a $75 fee or approved waiver. MIT recommends that the two teacher letters represent different academic perspectives, typically one from mathematics or science and one from the humanities, social sciences, or a language.
