Krea University began under Andhra Pradesh’s private-university framework in 2018. The University Grants Commission records it as a private university, providing authoritative confirmation that it is an independent, degree-granting institution rather than merely a business school or research centre. Its principal campus is at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, while an administrative office operates in Chennai. The university is organized around the School of Interwoven Arts and Sciences, commonly called SIAS, and the IFMR Graduate School of Business. SIAS covers undergraduate liberal arts and sciences education as well as doctoral research. For the 2026 SIAS undergraduate intake, applicants submitted an online application covering their personal story, academic record from Grades 9–12, and extracurricular activities. The next stage was the 80-minute online Krea Assessment Test, covering problem-solving, critical thinking and verbal ability, numerical reasoning, and writing. Shortlisted applicants could proceed to an online case-analysis exercise and a 15-minute faculty interaction. Eligible SAT, ACT, or Ei CREST results could affect the assessment route, but applicants should verify the rules for the next intake. It may suit students who value a campus-centered routine, but it is materially different from studying in central Chennai or another dense university district. The university acknowledges that the location can initially feel separated from city life. It reports weekend shuttle access to Chennai, though schedules and charges should be confirmed. For the SIAS undergraduate cohort entering in 2026–30, Krea published annual tuition of INR 875,000 and annual living expenses of INR 225,000, both explicitly subject to yearly revision. It also listed a INR 35,000 admission fee, INR 5,000 miscellaneous fee, and INR 50,000 refundable deposit. The first-year total shown by the university was INR 1,190,000. These figures apply specifically to that cohort and should not be treated as confirmed pricing for later entrants.
