About KU
Kasetsart University was founded on 2 February 1943 as Thailand's first agricultural university, growing out of agricultural schools that date back to the School of Sericulture of 1904. Its name means 'university of agricultural sciences', and farming, forestry, fisheries, veterinary science and food research are still at its core. Over the decades it has added engineering, economics, business, humanities, social sciences, architecture, and more recently medicine, nursing and pharmacy.
KU is spread across several campuses. The main Bang Khen campus in northern Bangkok (136 hectares) houses more than 20 faculties, the Graduate School and the International College. Kamphaeng Saen in Nakhon Pathom (1,272 hectares) focuses on agricultural sciences, Sriracha in Chon Buri serves the Eastern Economic Corridor, and Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon in the northeast supports royal development projects. THE counts almost 70,000 students across the university.
Most degrees are taught in Thai and filled through Thailand's TCAS admission system, but KU also offers 27 international and English-taught bachelor's programmes, from Tropical Agriculture and Bioscience to Aerospace Engineering and Business Management and Integrated Tourism Management. It suits students who want applied science, engineering or agribusiness at a large, green campus, with tuition on international programmes of roughly THB 60,700 to 90,000 a semester.

Why students choose KU
KU's roots in agriculture give it unusual depth in forestry, fisheries, veterinary science, agro-industry and food research, backed by dedicated institutes such as the Institute of Food Research and Product Development.
27 bachelor's programmes are taught in English: 19 at Bang Khen and 8 at the Sriracha campus.
Aerospace Engineering and Business Management is an international double-degree programme run by the Faculty of Engineering.
Costs are modest by international standards: the on-campus Krissana International Dormitory costs THB 6,000 a month, and off-campus dorms along Ngamwongwan and Phaholyothin roads run about THB 4,500 to 8,000.

Selectivity
Kasetsart does not publish an overall admission rate. Thai-system applicants are selected through four TCAS rounds (portfolio, quota, central admission and direct admission); international applicants are assessed by the faculty that runs each programme.

The TCAS dates are KU's published calendar for academic year 2570 (August 2027 entry). Sriracha and Kamphaeng Saen campuses run their own round 1 schedules (e.g. Sriracha round 1.1 applications 25 August to 15 November 2026). International applicants applying directly through KUIC should expect an April deadline, based on the 2026 intake.
How to apply
International applicants fill in the KUIC application form and send scanned documents: passport, transcripts and diplomas, a motivation letter, English test results, the Chulalongkorn equivalency certificate, SAT Mathematics where required, a photo and insurance documents. KUIC forwards the file to the faculty, which decides, and admitted students receive an invitation letter for the Non-Immigrant ED visa. Applicants inside the Thai system apply through KU's TCAS rounds on admission.ku.ac.th (application fee THB 200).
What admissions looks for
- A completed secondary education recognised through the Chulalongkorn equivalency certificate.
- English proficiency at the programme's level, typically IELTS 5.5 for KUIC direct applications.
- For engineering and agro-industry programmes, strong mathematics shown through SAT Mathematics scores.
- A motivation letter explaining why you want the programme, reviewed by the faculty that runs it.
Tips for applying to KU
- 1 Start the Chulalongkorn equivalency certificate early: it is a required document, and a provisional version is available if you are still in high school.
- 2 Check which campus your programme is on: eight of the English-taught degrees, including Automotive Engineering and Logistics Management, are at Sriracha, not Bangkok.
- 3 If you live in Thailand, TCAS round 1.1 for international programmes closes on 14 October 2026, much earlier than the direct international route.
- 4 Budget for the THB 10,000 per semester International Student Fee on top of tuition, and buy health insurance if you do not have it, since KU requires cover.

Kasetsart offers few scholarships for international undergraduates; KUIC's scholarship listings are mostly graduate, research and exchange awards, such as SEARCA PhD scholarships and the Sriracha Campus scholarship programme for ASEAN+6 and European students. Thai students on Thai-language programmes pay regular university fees set by KU announcement.

Student life
Bang Khen is a large, leafy campus in northern Bangkok with historic faculty buildings such as the 1957 auditorium, ponds and green space, and it is known for its bird life. International students can live in the on-campus Krissana International Dormitory or in the many private dorms and apartments along Ngamwongwan and Phaholyothin roads. The campus also has a Taekwondo Academy and a Muay Thai Academy, a university radio station and a university press, and KUIC runs short sessions and exchange programmes that bring visiting students from abroad.

Location
The main campus sits in Chatuchak district in northern Bangkok, on Ngamwongwan and Phaholyothin roads, with its own BTS Skytrain station. The area is full of student dorms, cheap food and markets, and central Bangkok is a train ride away. Other campuses are in quieter provincial towns: Kamphaeng Saen in Nakhon Pathom, Sriracha on the eastern seaboard and Sakon Nakhon in the northeast.
