About JUST
Jordan University of Science and Technology was established by royal decree in 1986, taking five faculties (medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing and engineering) from Yarmouk University as its starting point. It sits on a very large campus of about 11 square kilometres at Ar Ramtha, outside Irbid in northern Jordan, split into a medical faculties complex and an engineering faculties complex.
Today JUST has 12 colleges and an institute of nanotechnology, offering 65 bachelor's, 63 master's and 2 doctoral programmes, taught by 1,101 faculty members. Its King Abdullah University Hospital, a 15-floor teaching hospital on campus with 678 to 819 beds, anchors the health programmes. Several programmes hold international accreditation, including ABET for engineering and several computing degrees, ACGME and WFME for medicine, NAAB for architecture and ASIIN for agriculture.
Non-Jordanian students normally enrol through the International Program, where fees are set in US dollars per credit hour and vary widely: from USD 75 an hour in soil and irrigation to USD 500 an hour in medicine and dentistry. JUST suits students who want an applied science, engineering or health degree at an established public university, particularly in medicine, dentistry and pharmacy.

JUST does not publish an acceptance rate. Each major has a minimum secondary school average: in the International Program 85% for Medicine and Dentistry, 65% for engineering, pharmacy, veterinary medicine and architecture, 60% for most computing majors and 50% for sciences and agriculture.

How to apply
Apply online through the JUST undergraduate application portal (services.just.edu.jo/applic), choosing the International Program. A one-off admission fee of USD 250 applies. The International Students and Minorities Office then helps admitted students with visas and residency.

- A secondary school average at or above the minimum for your chosen major.
- For the most competitive majors, a very high average: 85% for Medicine and Dentistry in the International Program.
- Applicants who can fund dollar-based, per-credit-hour fees for the full programme.

Doctor of Dental Surgery
One of JUST's founding faculties, with its own Dental Teaching Clinics; minimum average 85% in the International Program.
Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
Founding faculty with a Pharmaceutical Research Center and Drug Information Center; PharmD is 219 credit hours.
Engineering (chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, biomedical, industrial, nuclear, aeronautical)
ABET-accredited College of Engineering; for international students most core majors (chemical, electrical, mechanical, biomedical, industrial, nuclear, aeronautical) cost USD 170 per credit hour, and civil engineering and newer majors USD 200.
Computer Science and Computer Engineering
ABET-accredited departments, plus newer majors such as artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity and quantum computing.
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
One of Jordan's veterinary programmes, 166 credit hours, USD 350 per hour for international students.

Student life
JUST's campus is huge: about 11 square kilometres, including a university farm, a 40,000 m² artificial lake, forests and orchards, a concert hall and sports facilities. Academic life is split between the medical faculties complex in the north and the engineering faculties complex in the south. With students from many countries, the International Students and Minorities Office runs trips around Jordan, celebrates students' national days and arranges meetings with the university president and cultural attachés.
