About JGU
O.P. Jindal Global University was founded in 2009 as a non-profit, philanthropic initiative of industrialist and politician Naveen Jindal, in memory of his father O.P. Jindal. It is a private deemed-to-be university on a fully residential campus at Sonipat in Haryana, just north of Delhi, and in 2020 India's Ministry of Education designated it an Institution of Eminence.
JGU has twelve schools, covering law, business and management, international affairs, public policy, liberal arts and humanities, journalism, art and architecture, banking and finance, environment and sustainability, psychology and counselling, languages and literature, and public health. Jindal Global Law School (JGLS), the founding school, remains the best known, and admits to its five-year B.A., B.B.A. and B.Com. LL.B. degrees using the UK's LNAT test. Other undergraduate programmes use holistic admissions based on school marks, a personal statement, an interview and the JSAT or SAT/ACT.
The university reports more than 16,000 students, over 1,100 full-time faculty from more than 50 countries, and students from more than 100 countries. It suits students who want an American-style, interdisciplinary education with strong law, international affairs and social science options in India, and who can meet private-university fees or win a merit-cum-means scholarship.

Deadlines
JGU's programme pages checked do not publish fixed application deadlines for 2027 entry. LNAT test dates are set by the LNAT consortium, so law applicants should book a test well ahead.
How to apply
Apply online through JGU's admissions portal (law applicants through the JGLS law admissions portal). Submit Grade 10 and 12 results, a personal statement and a test score (LNAT for law; JSAT, SAT, ACT or CUET for other programmes), then attend an interview where required. Scholarship applications are made separately on a merit-cum-means basis.

Student life
JGU's campus at Sonipat is fully residential: accommodation and allied services such as food, laundry and housekeeping are compulsory charges for students, so almost all student life happens on campus. The university runs offices for student life and cultural engagement and for community engagement, and students organise clubs and societies across debating, moot court, the arts and sport. A large international office manages exchanges and brings in visiting students, and faculty come from more than 50 countries.

Location
The campus is at Sonipat in Haryana, on the northern edge of the Delhi National Capital Region. Delhi is close enough for weekend trips and internships, while the campus itself is self-contained, with students living and eating on site.
