About DIU
Daffodil International University (DIU) is a private university founded on 24 January 2002 with the approval of Bangladesh's University Grants Commission and Ministry of Education. Its main campus is at Daffodil Smart City in Birulia, Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka, and it also has a branch campus in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. How to apply
International applicants choose a programme from the international tuition table, submit certificates, transcripts, passport and a photo online, and are assessed by a committee. If eligible, they receive an Admission Eligibility Confirmation Letter and pay at least USD 200 (adjusted against tuition), after which an Offer Letter is issued for the student visa application. Payment can be made in BDT or USD, in cash or to DIU's bank accounts.
What admissions looks for

Tips for applying to DIU
- 1 Use the waiver and tuition fee calculator before applying: Golden GPA-5 in both SSC and HSC earns a 50% tuition waiver for the Faculties of SIT, BE, HLS and Engineering (effective from Spring 2026, subject to keeping an SGPA of 3.25); DIU says this slot does not apply to B.Pharm, CSE and SWE, which only consider GPA 5.00 in HSC and other quotas.
- 2 International bachelor's applicants should note that hall accommodation is free for the full programme, but master's students pay USD 30 a month.
- 3 Contact the international admissions office at least two months before the semester starts.
- 4 Arrange your own visa: DIU says it does not arrange visas for foreign students but will supply information to the embassy.
