Student Life & Environment

Residential life is structured around the college’s Christian mission and a comparatively close campus community. Central lists four residence halls—Parsons, Stoll, Kline, and Gillespie—along with Kline and Tri-Plex apartments for eligible students. Rooms are furnished with beds, storage, and desks. The campus is at 1200 South Main Street in McPherson, the county seat of McPherson County in central Kansas. This is a compact city setting rather than a major urban campus. McPherson is located where U.S. Highway 56 meets Interstate 135, providing road connections north toward Salina and Interstate 70 and south toward the Wichita area. A car may therefore be useful for regional travel, internships, shopping, or flights, even though daily needs within a small city can involve shorter distances. The college’s residential buildings, academic facilities, dining, athletics, and student services are concentrated on its McPherson campus. The city also hosts McPherson College, local parks, a public library, community services, and employers outside the campus. Commercial airline passengers generally use airports outside McPherson, with Wichita and Salina identified in county planning material as regional options.
