About BINUS University
Bina Nusantara University, known as BINUS University, began on 21 October 1974 as the Modern Computer Course, a short-term computer training school. It became the Computer Engineering Academy in 1981, added a computing college (STMIK Bina Nusantara) in 1986, and was established as a university on 8 August 1996, with the college folded into it on 20 December 1998, according to its own history page.
Computing is still the core. The university runs a School of Computer Science, a School of Information System, a School of Computing and Creative Arts and a BINUS ASO School of Engineering, alongside a School of Design, a BINUS Business School, a School of Accounting, a Faculty of Engineering, a Faculty of Humanities, and a Faculty of Digital Communication and Hotel Tourism. Undergraduate majors include Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Science and Game Application and Technology, as well as Management, Psychology, Law (Business Law), Architecture and Hotel Management.
BINUS has campuses across Java, in Kemanggisan, Alam Sutera, Senayan, Bekasi, Bandung, Malang and Semarang, plus one in Medan on Sumatra, and an online arm. Its BINUS International track (based on the Senayan campus) leads to an Indonesian degree plus, through partner universities, an international degree. It suits students who want an industry-oriented technology or business degree in the Jakarta area and are comfortable with a paid, private-university model: tuition is published per program and per semester.

Register online and upload documents at gabung.binus.ac.id, sit the TPKS entrance test on the scheduled date, then complete re-registration and pay the fees. Foreign nationals follow the international admission procedure on the same site.
What admissions looks for
- A pass on the BINUS entrance test (TPKS), which measures logic and abstraction and verbal ability rather than school subject content.
- For BINUS International Computer Science, a science-track or technology/computing/design vocational background.
- For Graphic Design and New Media, drawing ability shown in the 45-minute test.

Student life
BINUS students study in modern high-rise campuses around Greater Jakarta, with additional campuses in Bandung, Malang, Semarang and Medan. The first year for many students includes a First Year Program run by the student affairs unit, and a Student Exchange and Global Opportunities office. Student life is organised through the BINUSIAN Community and a student card. The Kemanggisan, Alam Sutera and Bekasi campuses use one shared admissions calendar, while Senayan hosts the international track.

BINUS's main campus is at Kemanggisan in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta. Its other Greater Jakarta campuses are at Alam Sutera (Tangerang), Bekasi and Senayan (central Jakarta), and it has separate campuses in Bandung, Malang, Semarang and Medan. Jakarta is Indonesia's capital and its largest business and media centre.
